Take Weekly Measurements for Massive Sports Training Gains!
Any athlete that is serious about transforming their physique must take a physical inventory. What this means is that initial and consistent measurements for things like speed, strength, agility and even body composition need to be kept track of.
These measurements are crucial towards reaching your goals. You have to have a way of knowing whether what you are doing is working or not. Without measurements it would be like taking a class but having no grading system.
For measuring body composition there are a few tips that I have found helpful for putting everything into perspective.
Multiple Ways to Measure Progress
A professional body fat test is a great way to get an accurate measurement for initial body fat levels. However, to measure progress every week from the most efficient way possible I believe you want to use a combination of 4 variables.
These variables are a three site body fat measurement, body weight, 3 pictures and physical performance. In this article I will focus on the concept of weekly pictures.
Weekly Pictures
It is a helpful tip to take pictures once weekly to monitor progress. These pictures will show your progress well over time. People have a hard time seeing results in themselves because they look in the mirror and judge themselves everyday.
This constant self-judging can cloud a person’s viewpoint so that they may think they are making no or very little progress. This is not good if it stops motivation and brings a poor self-attitude.
Taking pictures regularly can bring positive re-enforcement and new found motivation when pictures from 6 weeks ago show great progress.
It is a good idea to take a picture from 10 feet away each week with as minimal clothes as possible to show all areas of body fat storage. Always take the picture in the exact same environment and at the same time of day if possible.
Even though this is just one tool you can use of the four I mentioned above, it is very powerful. Pull this out of your training toolbox and see what massive changes can be seen in your
